Planned Companies is not anti-union. In fact, approximately 15% of our 4,300+ associates are represented by unions.
We maintain productive and respectful relationships with a number of labor unions in our industry, ones that have created a positive environment for our employees and have enhanced the services we offer to clients. To that end, we:
- Respect the rights of our employees and provide opportunities for our associates to be heard. Our open lines of communication between associates, their managers and leadership, ensures a positive workplace for everyone.
- Provide our associates with competitive wages and benefits, have been recognized for our commitment to employee education and support, and offer opportunities for upward mobility within the company.
- Will not work with labor unions that expose our associates to risky financial environments, including underfunded pension programs that risk their individual retirements and unjustly expose our clients and shareholders to millions in lability.
- In our industry, blanket “one size fits all” labor union agreements are not ideal for our employees and for the services they provide to our clients. We are open to new relationships with partners that understand and respect this approach.
- We approach all union negotiations with an open mind, and in the best interest of our associates and clients. We will not tolerate corporate bullying by aggressive labor unions, nor will we promote their agendas of baseless accusations and blatant untruths.
Our associates are the key to providing our recognized level of service, and we remain committed to providing the best compensation, benefits and optimal work environment to each member of our Planned Companies family.
